Week 7 Blog

The highlight of this week would definitely have to be Elder Scott coming and doing the devotional on Tuesday night. That brings our apostle count to three, plus Sister Beck. Pretty sweet. He talked a lot about how awesome Sister missionaries are, so that made us all feel pretty good. His main message was truly inspired, because I imagine that if it weren’t, it is a topic that no one would pick to give to missionaries in the MTC. The first half of his message was one of his pet topics–recording thoughts and impressions. He gave some great insight on being led by the Holy Ghost and acting on them. He shared some great stories. I wish I had my notes so that I could relate more, but they are in the classroom. Sorry. The rest of his message was about eternal marriage. Not what I think any of us were expecting to hear from an apostle at this point in our mission–he wasn’t talking about teaching eternal marriage to investigators/less actives/newly baptized, he was talking about it in regards to us. It was very good. He is also very funny.

Sister Westrup’s surgery went pretty well and she is recovering nicely. She’s on a lot of percacet, so we have all been greatly entertained as of late.

About gwenogjones

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving for 18 months in the Korea Busan Mission (as of September 7, 2011). I have a fanatical obsession with Snape and the Harry Potter series (in that order), I recently graduated from university majoring in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (Arabic). Prior to this major, I was working towards a degree in Jazz Saxophone performance; ergo, I love music. I also love reading, writing, painting, spending time with my friends, playing soccer, watching movies...the usual types of things early 20-somethings enjoy.
